78 Cats in West Jakarta Sterilized

West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency, Friday (10/17), held mobile cat sterilization at RW 12 Srengseng Urban Village, Kembangan. There were 78 cats sterilized today.

She added that this sterilization program is specifically for residents with ID cards and residing in West Jakarta. Each ID card holder can register up to three cats for sterilization.
According to her, this program is held to suppress cat population in West Jakarta, as well as maintain Jakarta as a free-rabies city.
Therefore, the program also included vaccinations against animals that transmit rabies. Furthermore, the program facilitated health education and consultations for residents' pets.
Acting Head Section of Animal Husbandry and Health of the sub-agency, Milya Purnamasari stated 59 cats and eight dogs were vaccinated today.
"Eight cats were registered for a consultation," she stated.
Resident of RT 08/05 Srengseng, Rizka admitted happy to participate the program. She brought three stray cats to be sterilized.
She assessed that this free sterilization program is useful.
"We used to pay Rp 150-200,000 for sterilization. But it's free here," she admitted.
